International Women Day

Huduma smart believes in mutual terms between domestic workers and their employers. Employers should receive the right and skilled service from their employees. On the other hand domestic workers should work in conducive environments and paid accordingly. Statistics of 2015, domestic workers are estimated at 53 million to 100 million, domestic workers comprise a huge workforce in developing and developed countries. Women are dramatically overrepresented (83% of domestic workers) and often come from particular racial, ethnic and socially disadvantaged populations. In Tanzania, the national domestic work study conducted, gives evidence of high incidence of unpaid or paid below the statutory minimum wage to domestic workers and excessive in-kind payments. Along side underpayment domestic workers also face sexual harassment with the majority being women, absence of documented agreements and poor working environments.

Huduma smart is celebrating Womens day having empowered women in the domestic work sector offering them with skills and employment with a decent salary and working environment.
